Grandparents Day Thanks!
What a wonderful day Grandparents Day was! A huge thanks to all the grandparents who were able to join us on the day. The day started out with a lovely Mass, and we share our gratitude to Father Mark and Donna for celebrating Mass. We also had a beautiful morning tea, spent time together on the playground, watched Year 1 lead a beautiful liturgical movement, and of course spent some time in the classrooms with the children. What an amazing day!

Religious Literacy Assessment – Year 4
On Monday August 5 th Year 4 will be participating in the Religious Literacy Assessment, which is an assessment that all students in the Diocese of Wollongong undertake in Year 4. The purpose of this assessment is very similar to that of NAPLAN, however this assessment tests the knowledge and understanding that the children have in the key learning area of Religious Education. It covers content areas from Kinder up until Year 3, and it gives the school an understanding of both areas of strength and potential areas for improvement in Religious Education at St Patrick’s. We wish the children the best of luck in this assessment and look forward to analysing the data and planning for improvement in the Religious literacy of our students.

First Reconciliation!
A number of friends in Year 3 have begun preparations for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation, at both The Immaculate Conception Parish in Unanderra and St Therese in West Wollongong. We wish these children all the best and we will certainly keep them in our prayers in the coming weeks.

Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop & The Feast of the Assumption
On Thursday August 8 we will be celebrating the Feast Day of Mary MacKillop with a whole school liturgy in the church at 9am, and on Thursday August 15 we will be celebrating the Feast of the Assumption once again with a whole school liturgy in the church at 9am. All families and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Term 3 Prefects
Congratulations to the children who were chosen by their class teachers to be the class prefects this term. We are certain you will wear your badge with pride and be leaders and role models for your fellow classmates.
