SCHOOL-WIDE POSITIVE BEHAVIOURS FOR LEARNING

Our SPB4L focus for this week (Week 10) and Week 1 of Term 3 is the Toilets

In the explicit teaching lessons the expected behaviours taught will be:

  • Walk quietly to the toilet
  • Flush the toilet after use
  • Wash hands using one pump of soap
  • Dry hands with one sheet of paper towel
  • Put paper towel in the bin
  • Be quiet during toilet visits
  • Walk quickly and quietly back to class

Examples of behaviours that negatively impact on respectful, responsible and safe use of the Toilets to be taught include:

  1. Shouting
  2. Wasting paper towels or dropping them on the floor
  3. Running or playing in or near the toilet
  4. Putting toilet rolls into the toilet
  5. Putting paper towels into the toilet

We would very much appreciate your discussing these weekly focuses with your children and reviewing the expected and non-acceptable behaviours in our endeavour to see that St Patrick’s is a more respectful, responsible and safe learning community for all.

SPB4L Data

Throughout Weeks 8 and 9,  62 Citizenship, Merit, Library or Uniform Awards or Playground Affirmation Awards were awarded whilst there were 5  incidences of Inappropriate behaviour recorded. What wonderful news this is to report

WE’RE GOING GREENER - NUDE FOOD EVERYDAY

Data will be collected one day each week with the class that has most students bringing ‘Nude Food’ to school during Term 2 enjoying scones baked in the wood fire oven in the garden in Week 10 with thanks to Mr Mattas. Due to unforeseen circumstances the scones will now be baked in Week 1 of next term. I imagine they’ll taste even better then

Week 8 Data

Of the 140 students included in the count 102 brought Nude Food to school. This equates to 73% of the student population.

The most sustainable class in Week 8 was Year 5 with 92% of the students bringing Nude Food.

Hip-hip hooray Year 5.

Week 9 Data

Of the 169 students at school last week for the count 131 brought Nude Food to school. This equates to 78% of the student population.

Last weeks most sustainable class was Years 4 with 88% of the students bringing Nude Food.

Hip-hip hooray Year 4.

Best Wishes
Mr Gavan Hoctor
