Celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation
We were blessed to celebrate a very special milestone in the faith journey of many of our Year 6 students as they received the Sacrament of Confirmation, both at St Therese in West Wollongong, and the Immaculate Conception Parish in Unanderra. Surrounded by their families, sponsors, teachers, and parish community, the students were sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a joyful and reverent liturgy led by Bishop Brian.
Confirmation marks a deepening of our students’ commitment to their Catholic faith. Through this sacrament, they are strengthened by the Holy Spirit to live as courageous witnesses to Christ’s love in the world. It was truly uplifting to see our students step forward with such reverence and joy, supported by the prayers and guidance of those around them.
In the lead-up to the celebration, the students prepared through prayer, reflection, and learning about the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. We are incredibly proud of their maturity and openness to God's call in their lives.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide and inspire each of them in the years ahead. May they always know the strength, wisdom, and peace that comes from living a life of faith. Congratulations to all our newly Confirmed students!
National Reconciliation Week Liturgy: Bridging Now to Next
During National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June), our school community gathered for a special liturgy to reflect on this year's theme, Bridging Now to Next. This theme highlights the ongoing connection between past, present, and future, urging all Australians to step forward together, guided by the lessons of history.
Through prayer, song, and reflection, we honoured the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The liturgy served as a meaningful opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding of reconciliation and to reaffirm our commitment to walking together toward a more united and respectful Australia.
St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal – Donations Needed
This winter, our school is supporting the 2025 St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal by collecting donations of canned soup to help those doing it tough during the colder months.
We invite all families to give what they can—every can makes a difference! Donations can be brought to the front office or your child’s classroom.
Donations will be accepted until Friday, June 27.
Thank you for your generous support in sharing warmth and kindness this winter.
Kind regards
Mr Sam Mattas
