WHAT'S NEW IN THE GARDEN
We’re Going Greener!
In Week One of this term, St Patrick’s received some new additions to each side of the school. As part of the Wollongong Council ‘Greening Strategy’ several trees were planted, five of which were planted on O’Donnell Street and two on Kembla Street. These trees are a great addition to the school’s vast array of plants, as the trees are all of different species that are native to Australia. On O'Donnell Street there are two varieties of trees, Hibiscus tiliaceus rubra and Callistemon citrinus, and on Kembla Street there are two Lilli Pillis (Waterhouse’s floribunda). The Wollongong Council provided these trees for our school along with many houses in Port Kembla, and they will play an important part in making Port Kembla green again.
