HARMONY DAY
SIGNIFICANT DATES AND EVENTS
The United Nations, Australia and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders remember, and at time celebrate significant dates and events throughout the year.
In each class students will be given information so that they can understand why we remember, and at time celebrate these dates and events so they may undertake activities associated with them.
As a school community it is important that all of us are aware of the reason a date or event is significant so during the year a brief explanation will be placed in the Newsletter ahead of the date or event. This will be done to highlight these important dates and events so discussions can take place in the home.
Our first date this year is:
HARMONY DAY- Sunday 21st March
Theme for 2021 is- Everyone Belongs
Harmony day celebrates the cohesive and inclusive nature of Australia and promotes a tolerant and culturally diverse society. It is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
