PASTORAL SUPPORT
During this past term I have been keeping busy at break times running activities in the library. On a Tuesday I have been running games with students and have introduced them to several new ones. This has been a great experience as students have been able to work on their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and their resilience. Games in the library will continue in Term 3.
On a Wednesday I have continued to run card making in the library. Several younger of students have started to attend and have enjoyed creating their own cards. The last time we came together we I gave the students the challenge to create their own card featuring their own design.
Several students have been asking recently whether we can start doing some knitting at school again. Hence next term on a Wednesday I am asking students to bring some wool, knitting needles and or crochet hook so they can learn how to knit and or crochet.
Finally in Term 3, I am interested in running the Seasons for Growth Program. I asked for interest earlier in the year but there were not enough numbers to run the program. The Seasons for Growth Program is aimed at students who have gone through change, grief and or loss. This can be from the death of a loved one or pet, parental separation or divorce, a significant loss, or a change e.g., a Parent working away from home for periods at time. During the program students learn and gain an understanding of the grief process; recognise their feelings and other reactions to loss are normal; develop skills for coping, problem solving and decision making; build a peer-support network and restore self-confidence and self-esteem.
If you are interested in your child being a part of the program or if you have any other questions, please send me an email on:
