Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L)

Our PB4L focus for next week (Week 9) is Covered Areas

In the explicit teaching lessons the expected behaviours taught will be:

1. Walk when in the covered areas
2. Passive Play
3. Handball only
4. Clean up after myself

Examples of behaviours that negatively impact Respectful, responsible and safe behaviours in our Covered Areas to be taught include:

1. Running and chasing
2. Playing outside the toilets/bubblers
3. Yelling and Screaming
4. Leaving my possessions behind

Our Week 10 Social and Emotional Wellbeing Focus to develop relationship skills is:

Disagreeing Appropriately

1. In the explicit teaching lessons the expected behaviours taught will be:
2. Look at the person.
3. Use a pleasant voice.
4. Tell why you feel differently.
5. Give a reason.
6. Listen to the other person

We would very much appreciate your discussing these PB4L/SEL weekly focuses with your children and reviewing the expected and non-acceptable behaviours in our endeavour to see that St Patrick’s is a more respectful, responsible and safe learning community for all.

It is with pride that I inform you that over the last two weeks 35 students were given Citizenship, Merit, Library or Playground Affirmation Awards whilst there were 3 incidents of Inappropriate behavior recorded.
