October is the Month of the Rosary
The Rosary is such an important tool for prayer in our lives that the entire month of October has been dedicated to the Rosary.  According to tradition, the idea of the Rosary was given to Saint Dominic when the Virgin Mary appeared to him in an apparition in the year 1214. This Marian apparition is given the title of Our Lady of the Rosary. The liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated every year on October 7th. It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful.  In the month of October, let us consider this beautiful prayer of the Rosary as a means that we too can use in order to draw closer to Jesus and Mary by meditating on the great mysteries of our salvation.

SUMMER UNIFORM

Thank you for ensuring that your child(ren) are dressed in the correct summer uniform which we ask all students to be dressed in from the beginning of next week (Monday October 24).
As a reminder, please ensure that the children wear fold-over white socks as part of the summer uniform not ankle socks/sockettes. Secondly, I remind you that black ‘joggers’ are not the correct shoe for the summer uniform. Students are required to wear all black leather or ‘leather look’ shoes with their summer\ uniform.

P&F Meeting

Our next P&F meeting will be held on Wednesday 26 October.  Our current P&F do such an amazing job, particularly in the area of fundraising for the school.  We would love to see some new faces at the next meeting, so please come along, even if this is your first time.

KEMBLA ST ENTRANCE

Please remember that the Kembla St gate will be open from 8:15am each morning for student access to the school site. Playground supervision begins from that time. Should you arrive prior to 8:15 please remain with your child.

Thank you

Mr Gavan Hoctor - Acting Principal
