Dear Lord,
As the school year concludes, we gather in gratitude for the journey we've shared. We thank you for the gift of knowledge and the guidance of devoted teachers. Bless them for their commitment to shaping young minds.
For our leaving students stepping into new chapters, grant them wisdom and courage. May they use their talents for your glory. Holy Spirit, inspire reflection on the year's experiences—both joys and challenges.
As we enter the break, we seek rest and renewal, mindful of your presence. Bless this school community and guide us in the upcoming adventures. In this Advent season, we anticipate the birth of Christ, bringing hope and light into our lives.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Dear Parents
As we approach the end of another enriching school year , I want to take the time to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support, faith, and commitment to your child's education have made this year truly special.
Together, we've witnessed countless moments of growth, friendship, and achievement. From the laughter in the playground to the quiet moments of prayer in our church, the spirit of community and faith has been at the heart of our school.
I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our students, both academically and personally. They have demonstrated kindness, resilience, and a true understanding of the values instilled in them throughout the year. Your partnership in fostering a nurturing environment has contributed significantly to their success.
It is very hard for me to say goodbye to such a beautiful community who welcomed me with open arms and made each and every day much more of a blessing than simply just a ‘work’ day. St Patrick’s will always hold a special place in my heart and my prayers.
Thank you once again for entrusting us with the education and spiritual development of your children. May God's grace continue to guide and bless each of your families during the years to come and may the season of Christmas be especially joyful for you all.

Having conversations with children and young people
The National Office for Child Safety has launched ‘One Talk at a Time’, a national awareness raising and behavioural change campaign on child sexual abuse.
One Talk at a Time aims to protect children and young people from sexual abuse by helping adults understand that child sexual abuse is preventable and encouraging them to have ongoing, proactive, preventative conversations with children, young people and other adults in their lives.
You may have already noticed or seen the campaign's 60-second advertisement. 'One Talk at a Time' was informed by a substantial research program to ensure it is effective, culturally-safe, accessible and trauma-informed. This research included research and testing with over 8,500 Australians, including the campaign's target audience, victims and survivors, child safety experts and the National Strategy's priority groups.
This campaign is a key measure under the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Child Sexual Abuse 2021-2030 and fulfils a recommendation of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
A heartfelt thank you for your incredible generosity in supporting the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. Your donations will make a significant impact on the lives of those less fortunate in our community.
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season filled with hope, joy and compassion!
Mr Sam Mattas
Religious Education Coordinator
Starting from the beginning of Term 1, 2024, we will be transitioning to a new online enrolment platform, called Funnel, removing the use of all paper forms. Please take note, particularly for sibling applications. The online application form will be accessible from the home page of our school website www.sppkdow.catholic.edu.au
YEAR 5 & 6 LUNA PARK EXCURSION
On Wednesday, 6th of December, Stage three (Year Five and Year Six) travelled to Luna Park in Sydney for an excursion. The point of this excursion was to learn to calculate different dimensions and qualities of certain rides. For instance, the speed of which one ride travels, the total number of people that can ride in it, etc.
We caught a bus through Sydney, across the Harbour Bridge, and finally, to arrive at Luna Park. We were given wristbands so that with a scan we were admitted onto a ride. The teachers that accompanied us handed out maths work booklets for us to fill out. We were lucky enough to be able to complete a maths task and then be allowed to take a turn on whichever ride we pleased within that vicinity.
Most children took a turn on many of the rides, such as the Valloré, the Tango Train, the Boomerang or Big Dipper (both of which are roller coasters), the Ferris Wheel and so many more thrilling rides. Within the premises, there were food, souvenir, showbag and many more shops and viewing points to be enjoyed.
The students that took part in the educational trip to Luna Park, Sydney really enjoyed the memorable experience and we hope that the classes of stage three to come will be as privileged as we have been in being able to attend this Amusement Park.
