Dear Parents
God with us, and Father of us all, please bless the parents of our school
so that they willingly join with us and support us as we help develop the lives of
their children and lead them to your Son, Jesus.
Please keep in your prayers our families some of which are experiencing loss and sadness at this time .
First Holy Communion
Over the last few weeks our Year 3 children have been preparing for the Sacrament of Holy Communion. On Sunday they will receive the Sacrament .
May they always know the Peace of Jesus, the Light of His Love and the Joy of His Life within them.
Student Leadership 2021
The process for electing school captains, vice-captains, Liturgy leader, Community Leader, Environmental Leader and Sports Captains will commence as of yesterday. I spoke to Year 5 students about the concept of student leadership yesterday and have invited them to nominate for these positions. I have asked the boys and girls to send me an email informing me of which position/s they will be nominating.
They do not need to send me their speech this year however they need to prepare a speech for December 1st. Those interested ( School Captains, Liturgy, Community and Environmental leaders ) will be asked to present a short speech on why they would like to nominate for a position and what qualities they possess that would make them ideal candidates. These speeches will take place on Tuesday 2nd December at 11am in the breakout space and shared with Yrs 3, 4, 5 and 6 classrooms on their TVs. Voting will then occur for ALL positions.
Year 6 Graduation
Following Diocesan Guidelines we are able to hold Year 6 graduation. Even though this is great news for our boys and girls this year’s celebration will look very different. A letter will be sent out to you tomorrow detailing the event.
Classes 2021
In next fortnight’s newsletter I will communicate staffing for next year.
Remembrance Day
Last week November 11th the whole school took part in a COVID safe liturgy and presentation of floral tributes in our Anzac Garden. We observed one minute’s silence in memory of those men and women who died and suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
Good health, peace and blessings for the next fortnight.

SEMESTER 2 REPORTS
Please be advised that Semester 2 Reports will be sent home on Wednesday December 9.
Please see below information from the Catholic Education Office about the Semester 2 reports.

MONSTER RAFFLE EXTRAVAGANZA

Confirmation – Year 6 Students
Congratulations to many of our wonderful Year 6 students who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Friday November 6th. It was a quieter affair than usual due to COVID restrictions, however it seemed to make it even more special for the girls and boys.
Well done children, you should be very proud!
October Mission Star!
A big congratulations to the October Mission Star Award recipient, our wonderful reading recovery teacher Mrs Madaschi. Mrs Madaschi is a most deserving recipient of the award: she is humble, caring and compassionate and always looks for the good in others. Well done Mrs Madaschi!
The Mission Star Award is especially unique and special as nominations come from all members of the school community, not just teachers.
Kind Regards,
Mr Sam Mattas

Congratulations Wollongong Diocese Team
On Tuesday 17 November, The Wollongong Diocese basketball and tennis trials were held. Congratulations go to Liana Meta and Taylah Curtis who have been selected to represent Wollongong Diocese in Tennis and Basketball respectively. Taylah will be in the Wollongong Diocese basketball team and Liana in the tennis team at the NSW MacKillop Trials to be staged at Beaton Park Gwynneville in February 2021.
Well done also to Alani Tanevski who tried out for the Tennis team also. Some great talent at St Patrick's.
We had some special fruity guests at assembly to help Miss Cappetta talk about Nude Food. They visited each class to conduct our weekly audit of the children's lunch boxes. So far, Year 6 is in the lead. Well done Year 6!
