I hope you have had an enjoyable Easter break spending time with your family. We look forward to a wonderful term together. The first day for students is Tuesday 26 April. Any news in relation to COVID-19 restrictions or guidelines will be communicated to you as we receive it.
Staffing News
Last term we unfortunately farewelled Mrs Catriona Neilsen. Mrs Neilsen has worked at St Patrick’s as our Pastoral Support Worker for a number of years, sharing many of her talents with us including her beautiful singing voice and guitar playing skills. This term Mrs Neilsen will begin a new role as school counselor at St Anthony’s Picton. This has been a long term dream for Mrs Neilsen and we know that although she is a great loss to our school, she will go on to do wonderful things in the Picton community. Miss Sara Bryant will replace Mrs Neilsen as our Pastoral Support Worker two days per week.
This term we also welcome Miss Georgah Elchaar. Miss Elchaar will teach some classes on a Tuesday and provide PE lessons on Fridays. We welcome Miss Bryant and Miss Elchaar to our school community.
Friday Easter Mass, Easter Hat Parade & End of Term Assembly
Parents are welcome to join us for our Easter Mass on Friday 29 April at 9am in the church. We ask that parents sit on the side of the church nearest O’Donnell Street.
On Friday students are welcome to bring in a hat to wear in our Easter Hat Parade. This is optional and should not cause any angst for families. We encourage students to make their hats at home using recycled and repurposed materials. The parade will begin after our Easter Mass, at approximately 10:15am.
Parents are welcome to also join us for our postponed End of Term Assembly. This will be held outside (weather permitting) after lunch at approximately 11:30am on Friday. All Principal, Shamrock and St Patrick Awards will be presented at this time. Shamrock Awards will replace the awards previously known as the Gold Awards. In addition, we will hand out new and exciting Excellence Awards at this assembly.
Our records show that the following students will be receiving a Principal Award:
Bella-Rose Burns, Eleni Michaloudakis & Alani Tanevski.
Our records show that the following students will be receiving a Shamrock Award:
Emelia Connor, Ashton Kotevski, Meila Kusa, Audrey Woods, Rory Meizer, Citrine Nguyen, Eva Zafiropoulos & Kaitlyn Mitrovska.
Our records show that the following students will be receiving a St Patrick Award:
Delilah Calleja, Sofia Mineeff & Bede Woods.
If you believe your child’s name has been left off these lists please contact the office ASAP so that we can ensure they are not missed on the day.
Winter Uniform
Students can wear either full summer or winter uniform when returning to school for the first two weeks of the term. We ask that all students are in full winter uniform from Monday 9 May. Girls now have the option of wearing bottle green pants (available from Lowes) with their white shirt and tie, rather than the tunic.
Cross Country
Students who have nominated to try out for the school cross country team, will have their trial on Tuesday (weather permitting). Parent helpers are not required for the trials.
See you all next week!
Ms Gabi Tobin - Principal
There will be a Pupil Free Day on Friday 13 May as all staff will be taking part in a Staff Spirituality Day.
Please take this as advanced notice to organise alternate arrangements for your child/ren.
Thank you.
