- Looking at others when they are talking
- Speaking courteously to others
- Accepting other people’s differences

Examples of behaviours that negatively impact Respectful, responsible and safe behaviours when Respecting Others to be taught include:

We would very much appreciate your discussing these weekly focuses with your children and reviewing the expected and non-acceptable behaviours in our endeavour to see that St Patrick’s is a more respectful, responsible and safe learning community for all.
SPB4L Data
It is with pride that I inform you that over the last two weeks (Weeks 6 and 7) TBC students were given Citizenship, Merit, Library or Uniform Awards or Playground Affirmation Awards whilst there were 5 incidents of Inappropriate behavior recorded.
Congratulations boys and girls. This is wonderful news to share.
Please continue to act respectfully, responsibly and safely.
WE’RE GOING GREENER - NUDE FOOD EVERYDAY
We require all students to bring their food in reusable containers of on a daily basis please. Quite simply what we’re asking you to do is to send your children to school with food that is not wrapped in foil, plastic or commercial packaging. Our hope is that all food will come to school in containers that can be brought home rather than wrapping or packaging that ends up as rubbish in our bins. We wish to eliminate single use plastics and food packaging to make a significant impact in reducing rubbish that goes to landfill.
It is our response to instilling in our students an ecological consciousness that aligns itself with the efforts and expectations of the wider community and puts into practice the principles of the Papal encyclical, ‘Laudato Si.”
Requiring students to bring Nude Food empowers students to make conscious choices about what they eat, and encourages them to think about their impact on the environment and their health.
Your support for this would be sincerely appreciated.
The GREAT St Patrick’s School and Parish GREAT FETE
I wish to convey my heartfelt thanks to the extraordinary parent, parish and staff volunteers for their generous commitment to the GREAT FETE. Whilst I understand it was disappointing to have to postpone it the decision to do so was in the best interests of all concerned. We wish of course to reschedule the Fete but I’m sure you’ll understand that in the present circumstances it isn’t possible to consider holding the fete in the near future. It is anticipated that the fete will be held in Term 4 however a date is yet to be confirmed.
The prizes for the raffle and the silent auction will be held over until a new date for the fete is confirmed.
Pre- purchased raffle tickets and ride passes will similarly be held over until the fete is rescheduled.
If you wish to have the money for your pre-purchased tickets re-imbursed please contact Mrs Kelly Pucillo on 0413 768 894.
If you have other questions about the fete please contact Mr Hoctor at school.
Mr Gavan Hoctor - Assistant Principal
May we all find the renewal of hope, health, love and the spirit of God.
Happy Easter to all our students and their families.
Harmony Day-21 March
Harmony Day is a day when we celebrate Australian Multiculturalism. Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.
Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all of Australians regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values
Harmony Day will fall on a Saturday this year so St Patrick’s School will celebrate Harmony Day on Friday 20th March.
Students, staff and members of the school community are asked to wear something ORANGE.
WHY ORANGE?
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also related to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Australians can choose to wear something orange on Harmony Day to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
Students will be made aware of the significance of wearing orange over the coming weeks.
So start looking for something orange to wear.!!!!

A message from Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong for Catholic Schools Week 2020
Dear students, families and school communities,
Thank you for your school's participation in Catholic Schools Week from 1-7 March. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and showcase many of the fantastic things happening in your school every day, and in all our Catholic schools across the Diocese of Wollongong.
We thank you for working together in partnership with us to help make your school community such a vibrant, nurturing place of learning, faith, belonging and hope.
If you or a family member or friend would like to enrol your child in one of our schools, please download an enrolment package here.
Have a look at our Catholic Schools Week video below, celebrating what our students across the diocese love about their Catholic school. Can you spot the students from your school?
It was great to have the children back in the Library this week borrowing books. It is most important that they remember to return their book each week so as the books are available for others to borrow.
Unfortunately we cannot allow children to borrow if they don't have their library bag.
Please encourage your children to borrow books from the library and promote reading. We try and introduce new books to the library regularly to keep students interested.
